Shareholders
One of the shareholders of HISDESAT Servicios Estrategicos S.A. is the Spanish company HISPASAT, supplier of satellite
communications and leader in the Spanish and Portuguese language markets. Several other important companies
such as INSA, a Spanish public
company of the aerospace sector,
EADS-CASA, Indra and Sener, all companies of the aerospace industry, also participate in HISDESAT
Servicios Estrategicos S.A.
Some of these shareholders, particularly INSA and HISPASAT, have almost forty years of experience in providing services and operations for telecommunication satellites and participate as subcontractors in the operation and maintenance of the Ground Control Sector, located in Arganda (Madrid) and in Maspalomas (Canary Islands). These two stations form the Ground Sector of the satellite SPAINSAT, property of HISDESAT located 30 degrees West.
In addition, HISDESAT, along with the American company LORAL Space & Communications, founded on the 12th of July, 2001 the partnership XTAR-LLC, whose objective is to provide commercial satellite communications services to government organizations via its communications satellite XTAR-EUR.
