The PAZ satellite will cover the needs of
various users. It is able to take more than
100 images daily with a resolution of up
to one metre, both day and night and re-
gardless of weather conditions. It has been
designed to cover more than 300,000
square kilometres daily and is configured
to orbit the Earth fifteen times a day at
a height of 514 kilometres and a velocity
of seven kilometres per second. Given its
slightly inclined quasi-polar orbit, PAZ will
cover the entire globe with an average re-
visit time of 24 hours.
AB OUT HISDE S AT
PAZ will be launched
with the North American
SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket
The satellite has a mass of around 1,400kg
and is 5 metres high with a diameter of 2.4
metres. The radar has been designed to be
highly flexible and will be capable of ope- 27
rating in a large number of configurations,
thereby permitting the selection of image
features. It has an image memory of 256
GB and the capacity to transmit images at
300 Mbits/s on X-band.
Hisdesat is responsible for the launch and
commercial exploitation of both satelli-
tes of the observation system, in collabo-
ration with INTA, which will provide the
ground segment.
