SpainSat’s most innovative element is
R+D the IRMA antenna, which was developed
wholly in Spain and which protects secure
communications from interference. Other
segments of the satellite have also been de-
veloped and manufactured by the Spanish
aerospace industry.
The manufacture of this new generation of AB OUT HISDE S AT
satellites has taken place with a high level
of participation by the Spanish aerospace
industry, thus providing high-value techno-
logical returns.
Practically all Spanish companies associa-
ted with aerospace have participated or are 25
currently participating in the various pro-
jects, meeting technical excellence criteria
and often competing with international su-
ppliers. These programmes have created a
number of high-tech jobs and opportunities
for new business development.
