Each market is different and needs to be
approached with the right tools. Flexibility
and versatility are two essential elements
for our continued evolution as a company.
The Spanish Ministry of Defence continues

to be the principal user of Hisdesat’s port-
folio of services. Our communications sa-
tellites provide it with exclusive channels
to support and facilitate the campaigns of
the Armed Forces in the fulfilment of their
international peacekeeping missions. Due
to operational requirements, its demand
for commercial channels was expanded
in 2016. Humanitarian work like the de-
ployment providing support in Ecuador
after the April earthquake, is particularly
noteworthy.
Communications coverage for the Gene-
ral Staff of Defence (EMAD) remains in
force; as is the case for the National Inte-
lligence Centre (CNI), the Civil Guard for
its agents in special operations (Chester,
Rocio, etc) as well as the Miño River, Tajo
River and Segura River projects.
Hisdesat also continues to maintain a con-
tract with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
and Cooperation for communications ser-
vices to embassies, providing this network
with the necessary capacity for its day-to-
day operations. The regional government
of Valencia is another of our clients.
