TECHNICAL ACTIVITY

              5.1 The satellite communication

system The consolidation of Hisdesat as one of the

principal worldwide suppliers of secure communication services

by satellite, on the military K and Ka bands, for governmental
applications, is now a reality with its range of satellite

                        communication systems.

The aforementioned system has as its objective to
provide communication services for applications of a
governmental nature, both civilian and military. It con-
                        sists of the following systems:

SpainSat. Located at 30º West, it provides
                            coverage which includes practically the
entirety of the American continent, Africa
and Europe through to the Middle East.

Xtar-Eur: Located at 29º East, it provides
coverage from Brazil through to Indonesia,
including Europe, Africa, the Middle East
and a large part of Asia. antennae have been configured in such a way that
they provide a combination of beams, both fixed and
The platforms of the two satellites of the Hisdesat adaptable, in order to maximize the flexibility of the
system, SpainSat and Xtar-Eur, are based on the system. The adjustable beams have no restrictions in
LS-1300 Space Systems/Loral model, with 3-axis terms of where they point within the area of coverage

Both satellites have been designed to provide service dual-polarized broadband, both to the right and left,
during a 15 year operational life and the onboard thereby optimizing the use of the spectrum available.
