Organization’s (ISRO) PSLV-C30 launch vehicle. The EV9 complements the
current set of polar orbit satellites of the exactEarth constellation around the
equator every 97 minutes, providing expanded and detailed coverage of the
intense global maritime traffic in the tropical regions, and will play an important
role in the fight against illegal fishing.
The EV9 uses the latest generation AIS payload and runs the patented proces-
sing technology of the exactEarth AIS spectrum, thus providing superior vessel
detection performance. It will be supported by network of high data rate earth
stations, allowing exactEarth to provide its global customers with data rapidly.
It will also be able to provide highly effective detection of low power, Class B
AIS transponders equipped with ABSEATM detection technology as used in the
small boat market. Therefore fishing and similar vessels will be able to use these
cheaper technologies to combat the huge problem of illegal fishing and improve
their safety.
