Desde esa estación, los datos crudos se mandan a la Corporación
Universitaria de Investigación Atmosférica (UCAR, en sus siglas
en inglés), donde se procesan, se controlan y se mandan de
nuevo a la NOAA, para su transmisión final al sistema mundial de
comunicación para servicios meteorológicos. Todo este proceso se
realiza en menos de tres horas desde su adquisición en órbita.

Este hito ha sido posible gracias a los acuerdos entre la NOAA
y el Instituto de Ciencias del Espacio del CSIC y el Instituto de
Estudios Espaciales de Catalunya (ICE-CSIC, IEEC), responsables
del experimento GPS a bordo de PAZ, así como los acuerdos con
Hisdesat, la empresa propietaria, gestora y explotadora del satélite.

The raw data is sent from that station to the University Corporation
for Atmospheric Research (UCAR), where it is processed and
checked before being returned to NOAA for final transmission on
the global meteorological services communication system. This
entire process takes less than three hours from the moment of data
acquisition in orbit.

This milestone has been possible thanks to agreements between
NOAA, the CSIC Institute of Space Sciences (ICE-CSIC), and the
Catalonian Institute of Space Studies (IEEC), responsible for the GPS
experiment on board PAZ; as well as agreements with Hisdesat, the
company that owns, manages and operates the satellite.
