The most innovative component on SpainSat is its IRMA antenna, developed entirely in Spain and which protects secure communications against interference. Other satellite components have also been developed and manufactured by Spanish industry.

Many of Spain’s aerospace companies were involved in building this new generation of satellites, an endeavor that helped them gain invaluable technological knowhow.

Practically every Spanish company with ties to space technology has participated or is currently involved in the various projects, adhering to the highest technical standards and often competing directly with international suppliers. These programs have resulted in new activities in future industries and created highly skilled technical jobs.
