Madrid (Spain), 15 February 2021. – The Spanish government satellite services company, Hisdesat, will be present in Hall 10, stand B10, where it will show its portfolio of services, which includes communications satellites in the X and Ka bands military, SpainSat and XTAR-EUR, with a coverage of more than two thirds of the Earth. In addition, it is developing a new secure and flexible communications program, called SPAINSAT NG, which will operate in the X, Ka-Military and UHF bands, with maximum protection against interference or other types of threats, including a nuclear explosion at high altitude, whose configuration is defined by software in real time, once in orbit, and as many times as required, essential for the resilience of communications.

It also has a PAZ radar observation satellite, essential to achieve ISTAR capabilities (Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance), which provides more than 100 radar images of the highest quality and resolution (up to 25 cm) under any type of weather condition. and light and highly accurate geolocation for multiple applications: border control, intelligence, environmental control, protection of natural resources, military operations, verification of international treaties, surveillance of the Earth’s surface, urban planning, infrastructure planning, disaster assessment natural and high resolution cartography, among others.

The intelligence provided by these images is key to mission planning, deployment strategy and decision-making by military commanders, as well as operations by civilian organizations.

It also has a maritime traffic information system by satellite (AIS), which allows the location of all the ships in the world, equipped with this system. Through this constellation of satellites it is possible to know the situation of world maritime traffic in real time. This information is very valuable for government, maritime, port, and fishing authorities. AIS solutions fill the solution gap aimed at ensuring the viability of the broad and sensitive concept of maritime safety and helping to reduce environmental impact.

“The company considers the Middle East to be a strategic market, its great interest in space solutions generates important growth opportunities”, says Miguel Ángel García Primo, CEO of Hisdesat. “In this context, and on the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the company, our offer of satellite services for secure communications, earth observation and satellite AIS is fully adjusted to the needs of this attractive market.”
